NEMT Driver — Non-Emergency Medical Transport

Job Summary
Join our team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver and play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for individuals requiring medical assistance. In this energetic and customer-focused role, you will operate specialized vehicles to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations. Duties

  • Safely operate NEMT vehicles, including shuttle buses, limousines, or paratransit vans, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous and respectful customer service at all times
  • Plan efficient routes to meet scheduled pick-up and drop-off times while navigating traffic conditions effectively
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
  • Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare facilities to coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and any schedule adjustments
  • Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist passengers with mobility devices or luggage in accordance with safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or maintenance needs

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar commercial driving roles such as limousine or school bus driving
  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers, healthcare providers, and team members
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist passengers with mobility challenges when needed
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Prior experience in paratransit services or non-emergency medical transportation is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
