The Network & Unified Communication (UC) Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise network and unified communication infrastructure. This role ensures secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across LAN/WAN/wireless, voice, video, and collaboration platforms, supporting business continuity and productivity.
Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and wireless technologies.

Manage network performance, availability, and capacity; perform proactive monitoring and tuning.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex L2/L3 network issues, outages, and performance problems.

Administer network services such as DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and WAN technologies.

Implement and maintain network security controls including ACLs, content filtering, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.

Maintain detailed network documentation including configurations, diagrams, asset inventory, and change logs.

Support network upgrades, migrations, and patching activities under change-management processes.

Deploy, manage, and support Unified Communication platforms such as Cisco CUCM, Webex, Microsoft Teams, and VoIP solutions.

Manage voice gateways, SBCs, SIP trunks, voicemail, call routing, and related UC infrastructure.

Monitor UC service availability, voice/video quality, and platform performance; troubleshoot service issues and quality degradation.

Manage integration between UC solutions and enterprise applications (e.g., Active Directory, call-center systems).

Support implementation of video conferencing, contact-center solutions, and collaboration tools.

Maintain UC system documentation, dial plans, configurations, and operational procedures.

2–4 years of hands-on experience in network and unified communication support.

Good knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and basic protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

Experience supporting and troubleshooting VoIP/UC platforms (e.g., Cisco CUCM, Webex, or Microsoft Teams).

Ability to configure and troubleshoot VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks.

Basic understanding of SIP, call routing, voice gateways, and video conferencing.

Familiar with network/UC monitoring and ticketing tools.

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

CCNA or equivalent knowledge is preferred.
