Network and Security Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network and Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our IT network infrastructure while ensuring robust security measures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking technologies, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity best practices, and will play a key role in protecting the organization’s digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Implement and maintain security protocols, policies, and measures to protect data, networks, and systems.
• Monitor network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot connectivity and security problems.
• Configure and manage VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access controls.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and recommend security improvements.
• Ensure compliance with IT security standards, industry regulations, and internal policies.
• Provide technical support for network and security-related incidents.
• Collaborate with IT teams and management to plan and execute network upgrades and security initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, security procedures, and incident reports.
• Stay informed on emerging network technologies, cybersecurity threats, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in network administration and cybersecurity.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure, or similar) is a plus.
• Ability to analyze and mitigate network and security threats effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• CompTIA Security+ / Network+
• Fortinet / Palo Alto / Check Point certifications
