Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network and Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our IT network infrastructure while ensuring robust security measures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking technologies, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity best practices, and will play a key role in protecting the organization’s digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, policies, and measures to protect data, networks, and systems.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot connectivity and security problems.
- Configure and manage VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access controls.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and recommend security improvements.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide technical support for network and security-related incidents.
- Collaborate with IT teams and management to plan and execute network upgrades and security initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, security procedures, and incident reports.
- Stay informed on emerging network technologies, cybersecurity threats, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in network administration and cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to analyze and mitigate network and security threats effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- CompTIA Security+ / Network+
- Fortinet / Palo Alto / Check Point certifications
