Network & Cloud Systems Engineer

The Position:

We are seeking a Network and Cloud Systems Engineer with strong expertise in network infrastructure, cloud operations, and security monitoring. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our Azure-based infrastructure, network security appliances, servers, and endpoints to ensure system stability, security, and operational efficiency.

This role will focus on monitoring, troubleshooting, patch management, and network adjustments as our infrastructure continues to grow. Our environment includes Azure services, virtual servers, and Fortigate firewalls, along with supporting tools for endpoint security and monitoring.

The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad office as part of the division-based R&D and infrastructure team, collaborating closely with development and security stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Fortigate security appliances and associated network security configurations.

• Implement and maintain malicious web filtering agents and endpoint protection mechanisms.

• Perform network configuration adjustments, including IP management and connectivity updates as required for security and operational needs.

• Manage and adjust load balancing configurations (currently NGINX).

• Support network management and security controls within Azure environments.

• Implement and manage Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) using CSI-provided tools.

• Assist in incident response activities and support Managed Detection and Response (MDR) processes.

• Monitor adherence to Security Awareness Training requirements.

• Implement and assist in management of dynamic and static code scanning and communication of results with development team

• Participate in risk assessment initiatives and compliance activities, including SOC 2 related processes.

• Work with technical leadership to maintain and improve the application security posture.

• Monitor and maintain Azure resources, virtual servers, and cloud services to ensure uptime and performance.

• Monitor and respond to issues affecting servers, endpoints, and infrastructure services that support critical applications.

• Manage Microsoft operating system patching and deployment, ensuring systems remain secure and up to date.

• Coordinate and apply third-party software patching where required.

• Ensure system and infrastructure monitoring logs are available and maintained in accordance with security policies.

• Work closely with engineering leadership and development teams to ensure infrastructure supports application requirements.

• Support operational improvements and automation initiatives where appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3–4 years of professional experience in systems administration, network engineering, or cloud infrastructure.

• AZ-900 certification or equivalent familiarity with Microsoft Azure fundamentals.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting servers, endpoints, and infrastructure systems.

• Experience with network security appliances such as Fortigate firewalls.

• Experience managing cloud networking and security within Microsoft Azure.

• Familiarity with Cloudflare, NGINX, and network traffic management concepts.

• Experience with security monitoring, patch management, and operational system maintenance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

• Exposure to infrastructure automation and release process automation.
