Network Communication Engineer

Job Description:
The Network Communication Engineer shall be responsible for implementation and support of the communication network under the project ITS2020/2C, which includes deployment of a high-speed fiber optic backbone and access network switches, integration with existing ITS systems, and connectivity to Traffic Management Centers
Key responsibilities include:
· The engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing resilient communication networks utilizing fiber optic, Ethernet, wireless, and IP based technologies. Network architectures will be developed to ensure seamless and reliable data transmission between field devices and the Traffic Management Center (TMC). This includes configuring IP addressing schemes, VLANs, and routing protocols to support secure and efficient integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
· The engineer will integrate field devices such as DMS, RVDS, CCTV, and weather sensors into central systems using industry protocols like NTCIP, TCP/IP, SNMP, and ONVIF. This includes configuring switches, routers, media converters, and related equipment to ensure smooth interoperability of all ITS devices and successful end-to end testing from the field to the TMC.
· Experienced in architecting, implementing, and maintaining robust enterprise network solutions using Cisco platforms, in accordance with CCNP-level competencies across Enterprise, Security, and Collaboration tracks. This includes deploying redundancy and loop prevention mechanisms using MSTP (Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol) and REP (Resilient Ethernet Protocol) in both enterprise and industrial environments.
· Configure and optimize routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to ensure efficient and resilient network performance across LAN/WAN environments.
· The engineer will oversee the installation of communication infrastructure including ducts, handholes, cabinets, and fiber optic cabling. They will manage splicing, termination, and testing of fibers with appropriate tools (e.g., OTDR), and configure field switches, controllers, and cabinets according to manufacturer and project specifications. Secure remote monitoring and access for all devices will also be set up.
· The role requires close coordination with civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure that ducts, conduits, power, and communication equipment are aligned with field conditions. The engineer will prepare asbuilt drawings, schematics, and configuration records, and provide clear documentation including installation manuals, operation manuals, and maintenance guides. In addition, they will deliver training for operations staff to ensure proper use and upkeep of the communication systems.

· Degree in Electronics, communication and telecommunication engineering
· Relevant certification in networks like CCNA or CCNP, may also be desirable.
· Experience in communication network installation, integration, and testing
· Fluent in English (read, write, and speak)
Mandatory:
Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
