Network Consultant

The Network Consultant will design, implement, and optimize network solutions to ensure secure, high-performance connectivity across the organization’s infrastructure. This role involves assessing client requirements, recommending network architectures, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing strategic guidance to meet business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation:
• Assess business and technical requirements to design robust LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud network architectures.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
• Consultation & Strategy:
• Advise stakeholders on emerging networking technologies, security standards, and cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct network assessments and capacity planning to support scalability and business growth.
• Maintenance & Optimization:
• Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
• Implement proactive measures to optimize speed, reliability, and security.
• Security & Compliance:
• Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and security policies to safeguard data.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations (ISO, GDPR, etc.) and company policies.
• Documentation & Training:
• Prepare detailed network diagrams, documentation, and change logs.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training sessions for in-house IT teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in network consulting, architecture, or administration.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, VoIP, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
• Hands-on expertise with Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise-grade network equipment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
• Juniper Networks Certified Specialist.
• AWS or Azure networking certifications (optional).
