Network Engineer

Location: Remote (U.S. only) / some potential project based travel

We’re seeking a Network Engineer who will own and drive network performance, infrastructure upgrades, and firewall architecture across diverse client environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and manage network projects and client infrastructures. Heavy Fortinet ecosystems: FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiClient, FortiAnalyzer, etc.
• Design, implement, and oversee switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs and end-to-end network topology.
• Drive infrastructure upgrades and refresh projects (switch deployments, segmentation, redundancy).
• Troubleshoot and remediate complex network issues; take ownership from diagnosis through resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to plan network architecture and security controls aligned with compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, CJIS, CMMC).
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, and change logs.
• Monitor network health, performance metrics, and implement improvements proactively.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• U.S. based citizen (required due to compliance obligations).
• 5+ years of network engineering or infrastructure experience with strong hands-on skills.
• Deep experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiClient, etc.).
• Proficiency in routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs.
• Strong Microsoft server environment skills (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation skills.
• Self motivated, capable persona with the mindset that no problem is too big.

Preferred:

• Fortinet certifications or other relevant vendor certifications (Cisco, SonicWall, CompTIA, etc.)
• Experience in multi-site / hybrid cloud networks.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python).
• Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CJIS/LEIN, CMMC).

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
