Job Overview:
The Network Associate is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the technical network infrastructure within a call center environment. This role focuses on ensuring consistent uptime and quality performance for all network components, supporting the functionality of call center applications, and assisting with network-related queries from call center staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Management:
- Monitor call center network performance to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain call center infrastructure, including routers, switches, VoIP systems, and firewalls.
- Support and optimize call routing and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems.
- Ensure uptime and performance stability for both local and remote call center operations.
- Technical Support:
- Provide level 1 and level 2 support for network-related incidents, troubleshooting connectivity issues affecting end-users.
- Assist in diagnosing hardware and software issues on networked devices within the call center environment.
- Coordinate with senior network engineers and vendors for escalated issues.
- Configuration & Maintenance:
- Configure and deploy network equipment, including updating firmware and implementing network protocols.
- Manage network access and security protocols to safeguard data and ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular maintenance and audits to identify and rectify any potential vulnerabilities.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of network configurations, changes, and updates.
- Prepare reports on network status, downtime, and incident resolutions for managerial review.
- Document troubleshooting processes and provide clear steps for future reference.
- Training & Collaboration:
- Work closely with call center staff, providing guidance and training on network-related tools and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and network teams to implement upgrades and improve system efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in network administration or a similar role; experience within a call center environment is an advantage.
- Certifications: CCNA, or similar network-related certifications preferred.
Key Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with: PfSense Firewall, OpenVPN, Windows Server, switches.
- Proficient with network configuration, hardware troubleshooting, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, Active Directory, DNS).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds,PRTG) and troubleshooting tools.
- Knowledge of Virtualization Vmware.
- Familiarity with VoIP technologies, call center applications, and IVR systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Other Skills:
- Willingness to work on-call shifts, as required for network support.
