Job Description: Network Engineer

1. Position Overview The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Organization’s network infrastructure. This role requires a focus on high availability, security, and the integration of advanced technologies like SD-WAN and FortiGate firewalls to support the Organization’s mission of providing services.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Deployment: Design, configure, and deploy functional networks including LAN, WLAN, WAN, and SD-WAN.
• Security Management: Maintain and optimize security infrastructure, specifically focusing on FortiGate firewalls, HA/DR (High Availability/Disaster Recovery), and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
• Operational Support: Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for connectivity issues and perform regular system upgrades, including patches and hotfixes.
• Performance Monitoring: Use diagnostic tools (e.g., Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds, Wireshark) to monitor network availability, throughput, and latency.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure all network activities comply with Organization’s security policies and confidentiality agreements.

3. Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the network design, architecture,
• implementation and management with a demonstrated ability to lead complex network projects.
• Certifications (Mandatory):
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
• Preferred Certifications: CCIE or NSE5 (Fortinet Network Security Expert).
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VRF, MPLS, STP).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco products (Routers, Switches, WLC, ISE, DNA Center) and Fortinet technologies.

4. Soft Skills & Additional Requirements

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Availability: Ability to start within the required timeline; immediate availability is preferred.
• Compliance: Must sign a confidentiality agreement and pass a technical interview conducted by Organization’s officials.
