Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Network Engineer with a strong background in Cisco networking technologies to join our Network Operations Team. This role is essential to the stability, performance, and security of our enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions, as well as a solid understanding of core network protocols and architecture.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of complex network solutions, provide advanced troubleshooting support, and serve as a key escalation point for critical incidents. You will collaborate closely with peers in systems, security, and application teams to support operational needs and business initiatives. In addition, you will play a leadership role in mentoring junior engineers, developing documentation, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, firewalls, and data center networks).
• Serve as a top-level escalation point for complex network issues and outages; lead root cause analysis and resolution efforts.
• Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, Cisco DNA, or similar; recommend and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale projects such as network upgrades, data center migrations, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Manage network-related change control processes and ensure accurate documentation (network diagrams, configuration standards, runbooks).
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance network operations and security.
• Mentor junior network engineers and provide guidance to NOC staff on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO, NIST, PCI).
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 6+ years equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering roles within enterprise environments, with a strong focus on Cisco-based infrastructure.
• Expert knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
• Strong command of routing protocols
• Solid understanding of firewalls (Cisco ASA, FTD, Palo Alto), VPNs, and NAT
• Experience designing and supporting redundant network topologies
• Expert-level knowledge of Cisco technologies, including routers, switches (Catalyst/Nexus), wireless controllers, and next-generation firewalls (ASA, Firepower).
• Professional certifications such as, CCNA, Cisco CCNP (Enterprise/Security); and/or CCIE (preferred or in progress) is a significant plus.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and services such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, VLANs, STP, QoS, DHCP, DNS, and NAT.
• Experience with enterprise network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, DNA Center, ThousandEyes).
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting, packet analysis (Wireshark), and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with VPN technologies, remote access solutions, and site-to-site connectivity.
• Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid infrastructure models is a plus.
• Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar) is desirable.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly document technical procedures and network diagrams.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and lead projects or initiatives independently.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours as needed.
