Job Purpose:
Acts as the System Design Authority (SDA), ensuring technical consistency and compliance with project requirements. Provides technical leadership, supports the Project Manager, and oversees system integration, design, and execution. Manages technical changes, supplier selection, and resolves issues during commissioning and handover.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:

Interface with systems engineers, when necessary, on technical engineering activities

Assure the accuracy of Engineering milestones which are integral to the project schedule

Attend project meetings and prepares the necessary technical data for the other disciplines

Inter-discipline coordination and overall quality control of the technical work

Evaluate design changes and modifications providing project impact assessments
-
Review of engineering deliverables and approve redline drawing issue
-
Liaising and managing suppliers to ensure all technical deliverables are delivered within the technical scope of the project.

Taking responsibility for a team of engineers and training/mentoring junior engineers

Prepare Purchase requests in coordination with Engineering, Procurement and PM

Follow up on Supplier deliverables with Procurement and logistics teams

Assist in preparing weekly project management reports by providing Engineering contribution
-
Providing Technical presentations for internal and external use
-
Ensuring that project filing systems are maintained accurately

Communicates directly to the client for all technical related aspects in coordination with the Project Manager

Interface with warehouse staff to ensure that received materials is technically compliant with specification
-
Proactively works with the integration function to maintain project design compliance.

Monitors and contributes to the following:
Configuration, Pre-FAT, FAT, Pre-commissioning, commissioning, Pre-SAT, SAT testes of systems ensuring that punch items are cleared and re-inspected, maintenance and warranty support.

Frequent travel globally may be required as per projects requirement.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent
-
Experience: Minimum 5-8 years’ experience out of which few years in Industrial Project Technical management (Oil & Gas, Power Networks etc.) would be advantageous
-
Experience architecting complex systems, including operating systems, networks, firewalls, and load balancers.

Knowledge of project scheduling techniques and understands Critical Path Analysis.

Should have sound knowledge in any of skillset like PABX, MPLS, Juniper, HP Procurve, ISP, Cyber security, Fortinet, Firewall, Core Switch, OSPF, CUCM, Avaya, Routing, Switching, Call Manager, IP, VPN, Switches, routers, access point, IPsec.

Experience with network architecture within OT environments will be a huge plus.

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and the OSI 7-layer model including DHCP, DNS, NTP, SMTP, etc. Strategic planning and project management skills

Security experience with LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and VPN networks.

Telephone systems and PABX.

Preferred to be certified with any security vendors CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Security+, CCIE or equivalent certification.

Skills: Management skills, Excellent Communications Skills & Proficient in MS office Applications
Knowledge of project scheduling techniques and understands Critical Path Analysis
