Job Description

The NPD Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing new product development projects from design to production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and manufacturing feasibility. This role requires close collaboration with design, production, and quality teams to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.

1.      NPD Project Management

• Lead and manage new product development projects as per APQP and PPAP requirements.

• Ensure all project milestones and deliverables are met within timelines.

2.      Customer & Drawing Interpretation

• Review and interpret customer requirements, engineering drawings, and specifications accurately.

• Clarify and resolve technical queries with customers and internal teams.

3.      Process Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams for process planning, validation, and trial runs.

• Support prototype development and ensure manufacturability and cost feasibility.

4.      Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation, APQP matrices, control plans, and inspection standards.

• Ensure all documentation complies with internal and customer quality standards and audit requirements.

5.      Sample Management & Validation

• Support initial sample submission (ISIR) activities and ensure samples meet quality and dimensional standards.

• Monitor trial run results and recommend process adjustments as necessary.

6.      Cross-Functional Communication

• Facilitate effective communication between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve development issues.

• Provide technical guidance and training related to new products and processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

·       Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.

·       5–10 years of relevant experience in new product development within the sheet metal or automotive industry.

Key Skills

Candidates should have strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD), APQP, PPAP, sheet metal processes, engineering drawing interpretation, product development, manufacturing feasibility, ISIR submissions, customer coordination, and quality standards.
