Position Overview:
The NPD Lead will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end New Product Development projects in the mechanical domain, with a strong focus on machine manufacturing and special purpose machines (SPMs). This role involves driving product innovation, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating across departments to launch high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the complete NPD cycle from idea generation, concept design, prototyping, testing, to production handover.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales) to ensure project objectives are met.
- Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones.
- Prepare and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and risk assessments for new designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and customer requirements.
- Facilitate design validation and reliability testing for new products.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
- Mentor team members and build strong technical capabilities in the NPD team
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8–12 years of experience in new product development in a machine manufacturing/SPM environment.
- Proven track record of successfully launching new products from concept to market.
- Strong knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, welding, and assembly.
- Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project or similar.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to automation, robotics, and electro-mechanical integration.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
- Experience in DFMEA, APQP, and other product development frameworks.

Pay: ₹1,900,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
