New Product Development - Lead

Position Overview:

The NPD Lead will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end New Product Development projects in the mechanical domain, with a strong focus on machine manufacturing and special purpose machines (SPMs). This role involves driving product innovation, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating across departments to launch high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the complete NPD cycle from idea generation, concept design, prototyping, testing, to production handover.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales) to ensure project objectives are met.
• Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones.
• Prepare and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and risk assessments for new designs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and customer requirements.
• Facilitate design validation and reliability testing for new products.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
• Mentor team members and build strong technical capabilities in the NPD team

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 8–12 years of experience in new product development in a machine manufacturing/SPM environment.
• Proven track record of successfully launching new products from concept to market.
• Strong knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) and GD&T.
• Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, welding, and assembly.
• Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project or similar.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to automation, robotics, and electro-mechanical integration.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
• Experience in DFMEA, APQP, and other product development frameworks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,900,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
