Job Title: New Product Development - Lead

Department:

Location: Bengaluru

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Head of Design

Position Overview:

The NPD Lead will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end New Product Development

projects in the mechanical domain, with a strong focus on machine manufacturing and special purpose

machines (SPMs). This role involves driving product innovation, ensuring timely delivery, and

collaborating across departments to launch high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable products.

Key Responsibilities:

 Lead the complete NPD cycle from idea generation, concept design, prototyping, testing, to

production handover.

 Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales)

to ensure project objectives are met.

 Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones.

 Prepare and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation.

 Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and risk assessments for new designs.

 Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and customer requirements.

 Facilitate design validation and reliability testing for new products.

 Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.

 Mentor team members and build strong technical capabilities in the NPD team.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

 8–12 years of experience in new product development in a machine manufacturing/SPM

environment.

 Proven track record of successfully launching new products from concept to market.

 Strong knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) and GD&T.

 Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.

 Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, welding, and

assembly.

 Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project or similar.

 Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Skills:

 Exposure to automation, robotics, and electro-mechanical integration.

 Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.

 Experience in DFMEA, APQP, and other product development frameworks.

Pay: ₹403,053.71 - ₹1,611,583.95 per year
