The New Town City Library AmeriCorps project is a community-focused initiative that supports cultural preservation, digital inclusion, and educational access/ AmeriCorps member serving at the library will help preserve and share the history and heritage of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara (MHA) Nation through special projects, community events, and strategic partnerships. Member will also support patrons by providing one-on-one digital literacy assistance, helping residents access essential online resources and technology. In addition, they will help expand the library’s after-school, summer, and adult learning programs, while coordinating wellness and cultural initiatives that respond to local needs. The role also includes volunteer engagement, communication support, and program design based on community input. Through service, the member will gain valuable experience in education, community development, and cultural outreach while making a lasting impact on the people of New Town while growing the long term stability of the New Town Library. Library mission: To provide the community with a broad range of information, resources, programs, services, and to encourage the free range of ideas through library staff, volunteers, partnerships, and participation of our patrons.

Member Duties :
Through the Community Builder Program, the New Town City Library Special Projects Coordinator supports library services, cultural preservation efforts, and digital inclusion for the residents of New Town, North Dakota. This position will play a key role in expanding access to educational programs, preserving Indigenous history, and connecting local organizations to build a more vibrant and informed community.
