News Journalist Intern (Remote with Some Onsite Reporting Required)

Duties

• Conduct research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and integrity of news stories
• Write compelling articles and news reports adhering to AP style guidelines
• Capture high-quality photos and videos for news stories using journalism-grade videography and photography techniques
• Edit video content for broadcast and digital platforms, including television broadcast editing and social media clips
• Manage social media platforms by creating engaging content, posting updates, and interacting with audiences
• Assist in content editing, proofreading, and copy editing to maintain clarity and professionalism
• Support story development through interviews, on-site reporting, and multimedia storytelling efforts

Skills

• Strong written communication skills with a focus on journalistic writing and storytelling
• Proficiency in photography, videography, video editing, and content production tools
• Experience with social media management across platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok
• Knowledge of AP style for news writing and editing
• Ability to produce engaging social media content that resonates with diverse audiences
• Familiarity with broadcast journalism practices including television broadcast editing and news videography
• Excellent research skills combined with fact-checking accuracy and attention to detail
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for reaching broader audiences
• Digital journalism experience with content writing, copywriting, proofreading, and content editing skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
