News Reporter

Riverbend News is seeking a motivated and community-minded News Reporter to join our local newsroom. This position plays an important role in covering the people, events, and issues that matter most to the communities of Suwannee, Hamilton, and Lafayette counties.

The ideal candidate is curious, dependable, and passionate about telling meaningful local stories. Responsibilities include researching and writing news articles, attending community meetings and events, interviewing sources, and meeting regular publication deadlines. Coverage may include local government, schools, community features, business news, and special events.

Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Photography skills and familiarity with social media are a plus. Prior journalism experience is helpful but not required for candidates with strong writing abilities and a willingness to learn.

This position offers the opportunity to build relationships within the community while helping keep local journalism strong and relevant.
