We are seeking a talented copy editor who is a confident headline and summary writer, an expert on AP style and understands how to make the most of digital content.
This job is based in Chicago.

Proofread stories, text within videos, and social media content

Craft compelling and searchable headlines and subheads that inform, encourage readers to click into story, and have a tone that reflects the NewsNation identity.

Write headlines and captions on YouTube that inform and convince people to watch

Utilize SEO best practices.

Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met.

Social media publishing

Homepage management

Clip broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels.

3+ years working as a copy editor or similar role in a major newsroom

Work in national newsrooms and, specifically, national televisions newsrooms is a plus
-
Strong knowledge of search engine optimization

Experience working with content management systems like WordPress

Experience working with video inside Anvato, BitCentral, OBS or Latakoo a plus.

Excellent communicator, both oral written

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Annually
