JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled NICU Staff Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns. The NICU Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care while collaborating with neonatologists, pediatricians, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for neonates and support for their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates in accordance with established clinical protocols
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen levels, and neurological status; promptly recognize and report changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and nutritional support as prescribed
- Operate and monitor NICU equipment including incubators, ventilators, CPAP, and infusion pumps
- Assist with neonatal procedures and emergency interventions as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical observations
- Educate and support parents and families regarding infant care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in unit audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (GNM / BSc Nursing)
- Valid Nursing License/Registration
- Minimum 2 years of NICU or neonatal nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
