NICU staff nurse

Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Role Overview

As a NICU Nurse at Miracle Women and Children’s Hospital, you will provide life-sustaining care to our most vulnerable patients—newborns who are premature, born with low birth weight, or experiencing critical health complications. You will work in a high-tech environment, collaborating with neonatologists and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for every infant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Critical Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs and respiratory status; manage ventilators, incubators, and specialized feeding tubes.
  • Clinical Intervention: Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products specific to neonatal dosages.
  • Assessment: Perform frequent, head-to-toe physical assessments and recognize subtle changes in a neonate’s condition that require immediate intervention.
  • Family Advocacy: Educate parents on their infant’s condition, provide emotional support, and guide them through "Kangaroo Care" and bonding techniques.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team, including Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, and Neonatologists, during rounds and emergencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience specifically in a Level II or Level III NICU.
  • Certifications: * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • RNC-NIC (Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing) certification is a strong plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in neonatal pharmacology and advanced life support.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure, life-or-death situations.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with distressed family members.
  • Meticulous attention to detail regarding hygiene and infection control.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,086.00 - ₹46,053.36 per month
