Job Description / Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor and guide the nursing staff in handling critically ill neonates.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, duty rosters, and ensure adequate manpower coverage.
  • Assist in developing and implementing nursing protocols, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with doctors, pediatricians, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Conduct training and skill development programs for NICU nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records, reports, and incident logs.
  • Ensure infection control practices and NICU hygiene standards are strictly followed.
  • Handle audits, inventory, and equipment maintenance related to NICU.
  • Report to the Nursing Superintendent / Matron on unit performance and requirements.

Qualification:

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Staff Nurse Incharge or Senior Staff Nurse in NICU
  • Must be a registered nurse with Maharashtra Nursing Council
