Night Auditor

Job Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for overnight front desk operations and the daily audit process. This includes checking guests in and out, balancing the day's revenue, reconciling credit card batches, closing the books in the property management system, and preparing the morning report package for management. The Night Auditor also serves as the on-property point of contact during overnight hours and is responsible for guest service, security awareness, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register late-arriving guests, process check-outs, and answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Run the nightly audit, including posting room and tax, reconciling all revenue centers, and closing the day in the property management system.
  • Balance cash, credit card, and direct billing transactions; identify and resolve discrepancies; prepare the bank deposit.
  • Generate and distribute end-of-day reports for management review.
  • Respond to guest requests, complaints, and emergencies, and make appropriate service recovery decisions within established guidelines.
  • Walk the property at scheduled intervals to monitor for safety, security, and maintenance issues, and document any concerns.
  • Communicate any outstanding guest issues or property concerns to the morning team and management.
  • Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate shift documentation, including incident logs and pass-on notes.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of front desk, customer service, or bookkeeping experience.
  • Comfortable working independently for the duration of the shift.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn a hotel property management system.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an 8-hour shift.
  • Reliable transportation for overnight hours.

Pay: $19.25 - $19.75 per hour
