Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Night Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team. In this vital role, you will coordinate and monitor freight movement during overnight hours, ensuring seamless communication between drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams. Responsibilities

• Oversee the dispatching of freight and delivery schedules during night shifts, utilizing transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient routing.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and warehouse staff via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear communication.
• Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, including freight documentation, loading schedules, and inventory updates within logistics platforms like AS400 and 3PL systems.
• Manage fleet operations by tracking vehicle status, maintenance needs, and driver availability using fleet management tools.
• Enter accurate data related to dispatching activities, shipment statuses, and delivery confirmations into relevant databases with high typing accuracy.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements in transportation planning and supply chain efficiency.

Skills

• Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
• Experience with freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Excellent analysis skills to interpret data from various sources for operational decision-making.
• Effective dispatching skills with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure during night hours.
• Exceptional communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for clear stakeholder interactions.
• Familiarity with data entry tasks involving multiple platforms like ITS dispatch and TransPro both transportation management software.
