Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Night Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sanitation team and ensuring that all areas of the facility meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This role involves developing and implementing sanitation protocols, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The Sanitation Supervisor works closely with other departments to minimize contamination risks and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee sanitation operations including but not limited to machine disassembly, cleaning, and sanitation activities.
  • Manage chemical storage, handling, and security procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels and Initiate purchase orders to ensure sufficient inventory of cleaning supplies, materials and cleaning chemicals.
  • Prepare and verify sanitation chemical dilutions and concentrations.
  • Maintain sanitation records and ensure accuracy.
  • Complete end-of-production checklists and collect paperwork.
  • Perform visual inspections and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct cleaning verification swabbing and address out-of-spec results.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and implement sanitation cleaning schedule in accordance with production operations.
  • Assist with partial machine assembly for production start-up.
  • Oversee garbage removal and waste management.
  • Perform end-of-shift walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness of designated areas.
  • Participate and assist in internal and external audits.
  • Train, mentor and develop sanitation personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Lead team meetings to discuss sanitation goals, updates and improvements.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels, manage personnel timecards and time off requests, and plan team schedules to ensure sufficient coverage.
  • Follow all Food Safety, HACCP, Quality and Operational procedures (SOPs) as defined in NMF’s Quality Management System.
  • Ensure the adherence of company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in food manufacturing, cold storage, or related environment.
  • At least 3 years experience leading and supervising teams.
  • BRC, FSQA or related experience.
  • Post-secondary education required.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety and GMP standards.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office suite required (MS Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism and composure in varying circumstances.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • High attention to detail and meticulous.
  • Adaptable, resourceful and a willingness to learn.

Working Conditions:

  • The core hours of this role will be aligned to business operations. This individual will be assigned the evening shift with a start time of approximately 10:00 pm. Start times and shift schedules may change from time to time to support operational needs.
  • Work a combination of on-the-floor (+/-85%) and in-office work setting (+/-15%).
  • Exposure to varying temperatures inside the plant.
  • Exposure to allergen and chemicals depending on work being performed.
  • Will be required to wear and use PPE.
  • May be required to lift 50+ lbs.

Compensation range for this position in Stanwood, Washington: $30 to $40 per hour. The compensation depends on qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan annually, personal medical and parental leave, paid holidays, and family care benefits.
