Night Shift Caregiver

Duties

• Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, observing for any changes in condition or behavior
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Administer medications and perform vital signs checks in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
• Respond promptly to residents’ calls for assistance, providing compassionate support and reassurance
• Document observations, incidents, and care provided accurately in compliance with privacy standards
• Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas, including light cleaning and sanitation tasks

Requirements

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home health care preferred; group home experience is a plus
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with resident transfers using appropriate equipment
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), autism or other disabilities is beneficial
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and support residents’ needs
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts consistently; reliable attendance is essential
