Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Compliance and Asset Maintenance Manager

We are a growing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation company serving communities throughout New Mexico. We are seeking a dependable and highly organized Compliance and Vehicle Maintenance Manager to help ensure our company remains compliant, our fleet stays safe and road-ready, and our drivers meet company and regulatory standards.

Direct NEMT experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with compliance, fleet maintenance, transportation, operations, logistics, or administrative recordkeeping.

Position Summary

The Compliance and Vehicle Maintenance Manager will oversee vehicle maintenance records, driver documentation, inspections, safety requirements, and company compliance processes. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing deadlines, records, vendors, and follow-up tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor compliance records for vehicles, drivers, and company operations.
  • Ensure company vehicles remain current on registration, insurance, inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Schedule routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service appointments for company vehicles.
  • Track mileage, service history, repair records, and maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct or coordinate regular vehicle inspections for safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
  • Maintain driver files, including licenses, background checks, training records, certifications, and required documentation.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Learn and follow applicable NEMT, Medicaid transportation, state, and company requirements.
  • Identify safety, maintenance, or compliance issues and follow through on corrective action.
  • Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, vendors, and management.
  • Help enforce company policies related to safety, vehicle use, driver conduct, and maintenance procedures.
  • Keep documentation accurate, current, and organized.

Qualifications

  • NEMT experience is not required; training will be provided.
  • Experience in compliance, fleet management, transportation, logistics, operations, maintenance coordination, or administrative recordkeeping preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and follow up consistently.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, email, and basic recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be reliable, professional, and safety-focused.

Preferred But Not Required

  • Experience coordinating vehicle maintenance or repairs.
  • Experience maintaining employee, driver, fleet, or compliance records.
  • Transportation, delivery, logistics, or operations experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Familiarity with inspections, maintenance logs, or safety checklists.

You do not need prior NEMT experience, but you should be comfortable managing records, deadlines, vendors, and follow-up tasks. This position requires someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and understands the importance of keeping vehicles safe, compliant, and ready for service.
