Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate shuttle buses, vans, or other commercial vehicles to transport patients and clients to medical facilities or other destinations.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing excellent customer service with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels.
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and passenger details in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as cleaning the interior/exterior and reporting mechanical issues for timely repairs.
  • Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage while prioritizing safety at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in shuttle driving, bus driving, or vans is highly preferred.
  • Proven delivery driver experience or commercial driving background demonstrating reliability and safety awareness.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of paratransit services or school bus driving is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance routines and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with a positive attitude and professionalism. Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
