JOB SUMMARY:

The Case Manager plays a vital role in providing comprehensive case management services to individuals and families participating in any of our various programs. This position is responsible for regular and consistent interactions with clients, providing information, participating in community events and committees, and offering comprehensive case management services. Community outreach and events will likely be a significant part of the position during the first year as we aim to grow our presence in North Idaho. Professionalism, self-motivation, empathy, and compassion are essential to this role. The Case Manager reports to the Social Services Program Manager and operates under moderate remote supervision.

MINISTERIAL CHARACTER:

Catholic Charities of Idaho (CCI) is a religious organization founded by the Catholic Diocese of Boise to provide direct social services to those in need. CCI helps the Bishop of Boise fulfill Christ’s mission in Idaho. Positions at CCI help to extend the ministry of the Catholic Church in particular ways. Therefore, the Catholic Charities of Idaho employee in this position is related to and assists the Catholic Church in the performance of its ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work comfortably within a Parish setting in partnership with Parish staff.

Conduct screening, intakes, and assessment of needs for individuals and families seeking services for clients enrolling into case management or crisis intervention services

Assist clients in identifying resources available to them, assist clients in understanding services offered at CCI and the eligibility requirements for those services, and provide hands on and in-depth education tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Complete all required documentation—including database entry and invoicing—to maintain compliance with funding guidelines, licensing requirements, best practice standards, and agency quality assurance policies.

Connect basic, mental health, relational, and spiritual needs through an integrated, journey-based approach to care, while strengthening the overall safety net across the region.

Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality case management and crisis intervention, maintain strong regional credibility and professional networks, ensure clear messaging and role distinction, and prioritize ongoing communication throughout launch and growth phases.

Develop and maintain a strong knowledge base of CCI programming and community resources.

Assist the Social Services Program Manager to identify and implement actions to improve program effectiveness as necessary.

Prepare and submit all required reports and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

Participate in appropriate community collaborations by cultivating positive relationships with relevant funding and monitoring entities, faith-based organizations, social service providers, and other community partners. This may include but is not limited to participation in coalitions, councils, and collaboratives to promote awareness and provide accurate information to community partners.

Assist clients in carrying out short- and long-term plans by exploring all available options, identifying personal strengths and resources, connecting them with

appropriate community and government services, and providing referrals as needed—serving as a facilitator and advocate when appropriate.

Maintain confidential client files, statistical records, and case notes.

Participate as an active team member of CCI.

Maintain a consistent work schedule that maximizes availability to staff and customers.

As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Boise in both your professional and personal life.

Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the social teachings of the Catholic Church.

Skill in cultural sensitivity and awareness.

Ability to proficiently communicate in English and Spanish (conversing, writing, and reading).

Ability to travel throughout North Idaho as necessary, with mandatory all-staff events occurring biannually in Boise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Trainings:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country. Two years of experience in case management or a related field are preferred.

Experience:

Relevant experience may be substituted for the educational requirement at a ratio of two (2) years of full-time wage-earning experience equals one (1) year of education, with a substitution of eight (8) years of experience equals a bachelor’s degree.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Idaho driver’s license.

Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Boise (safe environment training) and CCI ethics policies throughout the employment period.

Preferred Qualifications:

English (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing).

Spanish (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing).

BUSINESS HOURS AND LOCATION:

This is a full-time position that will be operating largely out of the St. Pius X Parish. Regular CCI office hours are Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. This position may require working occasional evenings and weekends.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

CCI is an at-will employer.

All buildings and vehicles owned by CCI are tobacco free.

Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.

Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech including Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.

Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.

Working on weekends, evenings and some holidays may be required on occasion.

May be required to use personal or agency vehicles to drive to off-site locations through an approximately 75-mile region focused in North Idaho.

Traveling within and outside the North Idaho region for meetings and other events may be required, and travel may include overnight lodging.
