NPD Senior Scientist

We are looking for a talented and analytical NPD Senior Scientist to join our growing team. As the NPD Senior Scientist, you will work with autonomy and be guided by the NPD manager to develop products, perform cost improvement projects, lead product troubleshooting, improve product performance and stability, and develop innovative products. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of cosmetic formulations and product lifecycle knowledge, Microsoft tools and AI to assist in the product development phase, lab experiment tools (DOE), a deep understanding of project management, scale-up knowledge, and chemical understanding of raw materials and functions.

Job Description:

1. Lead formulation development activities with up-to-date knowledge of emerging market trends, diverse product aesthetics and textures, advanced technologies, and innovative cosmetic ingredients, ensuring compliance with Halal, COSMOS, and GSO regulations.

2. Demonstrate strong formulation expertise and ingredient selection knowledge in accordance with Halal, COSMOS, and GSO guidelines, balancing performance, safety, sustainability, and cost.

3. Formulate and develop cosmetic and personal care products across skincare, haircare, makeup, and toiletries, including research, evaluation, and selection of raw materials and actives based on efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

4. Drive product innovation by supporting marketing claims, conducting product safety assessments, substantiating claims, developing differentiated concepts, and executing cost-effective formulation optimization and reformulation strategies.

5. Possess in-depth knowledge of stability studies, product performance evaluation, consumer study and protocol preparation and compliance requirements under GSO cosmetic regulations.

6. Lead formulation scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and full-scale manufacturing, ensuring product quality and consistency.

Requirements:

● Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical, or a related area (to be evaluated during CV selection).

● A minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in a similar role in beauty care.

● Advanced knowledge in statistics and lab experiment methodologies (DOE).

● Good analytical view, verbal and written communication skills, discipline, and customer focus.

● Advanced knowledge in project management tools.

● Effective communication and teamwork skills.

● Advance understanding of Microsoft tools.
