Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing medical care to employees, managing workplace injuries, supporting occupational health programs, maintaining medical facilities, and ensuring statutory compliance related to employee health and ESI requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Health Care & Emergency Support
- Provide first aid treatment for injuries such as cuts, burns, eye injuries, and workplace accidents.
- Handle medical emergencies and arrange hospital referrals when required.
- Identify early signs of occupational diseases such as byssinosis, asthma, and skin allergies.
- Conduct periodic health checkups (BP, sugar, BMI, vision, respiratory assessments).
Medical Facility Management
- Maintain the factory medical room/dispensary and ensure availability of medicines and supplies.
- Ensure adequate first aid boxes, medicines, and medical equipment at designated locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the medical room.
Record Keeping & Compliance
- Maintain accident registers, treatment records, and medical logs.
- Assist in preparation of accident and medical reports.
- Maintain ESI records and support employees with ESI medical claims.
- Support statutory inspections by Factory Inspector / ESI officials.
- Coordinate Hostel Employee ESI registration and follow-ups with ESI dispensary.
Awareness & Training
- Conduct health awareness programs (hygiene, nutrition, dust protection, respiratory care).
- Train workers on first aid, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
- Support Safety Officer during mock drills and safety programs.
Coordination
- Coordinate with ESI hospitals, local clinics, and ambulance services for employee treatment.

Qualifications
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Diploma in Nursing
- Valid Nursing Registration
- Experience in Industrial / Occupational Health preferred
