The Nurse-In-Charge provides essential healthcare services to students, faculty, and staff within the campus community. The role involves delivering routine and urgent care, health education, and preventive services while promoting a healthy campus environment. The Nurse-In-Charge will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and campus departments to support the overall well-being of the campus population.
Responsibilities
Patient Care:

Conduct health assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.

Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as prescribed.

Provide care for minor injuries and illnesses, including first aid and emergency response.

Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and healthcare team.
Health Education and Promotion:

Educate students, faculty, and staff on health topics such as disease prevention, nutrition, and mental health.

Organize and participate in campus health promotion events and workshops.

Develop educational materials and resources for the campus community.
Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with campus health and wellness professionals, including counsellors, dietitians, and physicians.

Coordinate referrals to specialized care when necessary.

Collaborate with campus departments to address public health concerns and outbreaks.
Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policies.

Document patient encounters, treatments, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR).

Prepare and submit reports on clinic activities, patient outcomes, and health trends.
Patient Advocacy and Support:

Provide emotional support and counselling to students and staff as needed.

Address patient concerns and provide appropriate interventions.

Advocate for the health needs of the campus community.
Emergency Preparedness:

Respond to medical emergencies on campus and provide emergency care.

Participate in emergency preparedness drills and contribute to campus emergency response plans.
Administrative Duties:

Assist with clinic operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
Professional Development:

Stay updated on current trends and best practices in campus health and nursing.

Participate in relevant continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
Professional License

Valid Kuwait Ministry of Health (MOH) license is required.
Experience
-
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Nursing. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a school or college environment, is desirable. New graduates may be considered.
