Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $84,843 – $127,275 (based on experience)

  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

Job Description


Overview

A large acute care hospital in Arlington, Texas is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to provide operational and clinical leadership within a high-volume operating room environment.

This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative nursing care while supporting staff development, fiscal accountability, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee professional nursing practice within the Operating Room

  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate perioperative nursing care for surgical patients

  • Collaborate with surgical education leadership to support onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development

  • Conduct department-specific needs assessments and implement education and competency programs

  • Develop and maintain departmental goals, performance metrics, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, clinical policies, and professional practice guidelines

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility, including labor management and participation in operating and capital budget planning

  • Serve as liaison between surgical services, administration, medical staff, and ancillary departments

  • Complete performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective action as needed

  • Participate in hospital leadership and management team meetings


Qualifications


Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care Operating Room leadership experience

  • Minimum 5 years of RN staff-level Operating Room experience

  • Active Texas RN license or compact RN license

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field

  • Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)

Preferred:

  • CNOR certification

  • Strong clinical background in perioperative nursing and surgical services


Additional Information


Scope of Responsibility

  • Oversight of a 14-bed Operating Room

  • Leadership of approximately 60 FTEs

  • Reports directly to the Director of Surgical Services
