POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide safe, specialized medical transport via air (rotor or fixed wing) or ground ambulance for high risk and/or critically ill obstetric patients, obstetric patients transferred to a higher level of care due to fetal indications, or the delivered mother requiring higher level of care than what is available at the referring facility. The (Nurse) Maternal Transport Specialist utilizes critical thinking skills and established protocols to function within a mobile high risk obstetrical system. The transport specialist also serves as a clinical role model, expert resource, and mentor for women’s health colleagues within the organization and throughout the region.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or related ICU experience. Required current NRP, BLS certification and ACLS certification. BSN preferred.
LICENSURE
Current professional license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a Registered Nurse is required.
