Nurse Practitioner

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile processing with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
  • Manage acute pain cases, assist with complex diagnoses in gastroenterology, infectious disease care, or emergency medicine scenarios.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records.
  • Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Engage in clinical research projects, contribute to case management efforts, and support discharge planning for diverse patient populations including hospice & palliative medicine, senior care, or pediatric cases.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your state or jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with procedures like botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, spinal taps, or sonography is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing.
  • Background working in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, emergency rooms, or urgent care facilities.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to manage complex cases involving acute pain management or infectious disease care.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilators), geriatrics (memory care), individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
