Nurse Practitioner – Vascular Surgery | Tampa Bay, FL

The Vein & Vascular Institute of Tampa Bay—one of the largest and most respected vascular groups in Florida—is currently seeking a dedicated, full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside highly experienced, board-certified vascular surgeons, providing state-of-the-art care in arterial and venous disease, as well as supporting our innovative Hormone & Wellness Institute.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, practice-based role with responsibilities in both the clinic and hospital setting. As a Nurse Practitioner in our vascular surgery team, you will assess and manage patients with a wide range of vascular conditions—from peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and aneurysms to varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis (DVT)—while utilizing the latest in vascular imaging and procedural technology.

You will collaborate closely with surgeons and the broader care team, contributing to diagnostic planning, treatment strategy, patient education, and long-term management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., vascular ultrasound, ABI, CT angiography, labs)
  • Diagnose and manage vascular conditions and wellness-related issues
  • Assist with perioperative evaluations and post-operative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on clinical outcomes
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatment options, and preventative care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development opportunities

Ideal Candidate

  • 1+ year experience in vascular, surgical, or hospital-based practice preferred
  • Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, disease processes, and relevant technologies
  • Confident in patient evaluation, diagnostics, and autonomous decision-making
  • Highly organized with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multisite environment
  • Enthusiastic about ongoing education and clinical growth

Required Qualifications

  • Valid NP license in the state of Florida (required)
  • Active DEA license to prescribe (required)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN or equivalent); DNP/PhD a plus
  • BLS/ACLS certification (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel between clinic and hospital locations in the Tampa Bay area

Schedule

  • Part-time: 3 days a week, M-F (Negotiable), NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS
  • Flexibility required; schedule may vary based on clinic and hospital coverage needs

  • Includes both clinic and hospital settings (in-person only)
