Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physiological evaluations.
• Diagnose acute and chronic conditions utilizing clinical judgment, diagnostic testing, and evidence-based practices.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, suturing, and wound care.
• Manage complex cases such as ICU patients, patients requiring dialysis or ventilator support, and those in emergency or urgent care settings.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT).
• Collaborate with specialists in fields like gastroenterology, infectious disease care, behavioral health, geriatrics, and pediatric medicine to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Provide health coaching, patient education on medication use, nutrition, disease prevention, and post-discharge planning.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance healthcare practices and patient safety standards.

Skills

• Proven experience working with diverse populations including children, accident patients and palliative medicine patients.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems ; familiarity with telehealth platforms is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques (sonography), and medical imaging.
• Skilled in performing procedures like IV insertion/infusion, knee aspiration or esthetic laser treatments.
• Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of Workers' Compensation law and utilization review processes.
• Excellent communication skills for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays
