Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. This role requires a strong clinical background and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will focus their care on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and wellness/funcitonal medicine. They will be trained on and exclusively use Telehealth, so this is a remote position. The Nurse Practitioner will manage their own patients and will begin by seeing the New Patients requesting to get started in our program (we receive 0-5 requests from new patients each week). The practitioner will be able to make their own hours, and the times and days are flexible. The pay will be based on a percentage with annual increases (if well earned). The patients typically join a program which makes revenue quite stable, but will need to grow over time as new patients join the program. This is a position that will start as part-time and likely grow into a full-time position. This position will grow as the practice grows. The growth so far has been quite rapid. Although we cannot guarantee growth, the clinic has grown exceptionally fast to date. This type of patient care is highly sought after and very rewarding.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments of patients as noted over telehealth, and perform excellent documentation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Order diagnostic evaluations, mostly bloodwork, and interpret results to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe medications and suggest nutritional supplements as appropriate (training will be done on how to do this).
  • Provide education to patients regarding health management, preventive care, and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Make referrals to other professionals as needed to coordinate patient care.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions in diverse populations, including women and men, and occasionally adolescents. The majority of the patients are women from 40-60 years old. Then they often have their spouse see us as well.
  • Ensure adherence to NCQA standards and best practices in patient care.

Skills
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of the following skills:

  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Tebra and eClinicalWorks.
  • Experience in telehealth services would be helpful, but not required. The candidate will be trained on how to do this.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
  • Familiarity with specialties including gastroenterology, infectious disease care, pain management, mental health, and geriatrics. This practice is focused on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, but also offers advice in the functional medicine realm by using various supplements for other problems. This helps to complete the Wellness aspect of our care. There will be training on this. This is comprehensive care, but not primary care.
  • Ability to connect well with patients and offer personalized care for them. We offer one-hour visits, and our patients expect quality time and care. We expect superior customer service skills.
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Utah.
  • Strong communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient health outcomes while working in a supportive environment that values professional growth and development as well as personalized and superior patient care.
  • This area of medicine is highly needed and there are not enough practitioners to provide this type of care. It is a cash pay clinic, insurance is not involved. That makes it so we can spend the time we need with the patients and not rush from one thing to the next. It is highly rewarding and there is major growth potential for the right candidate. Patients greatly value this type of healthcare and wellness offering.
  • Must be willing to attend specific medical conferences to satisfy their Continuing Education requirements for further specific training in their first couple of years of employment. Many of the conferences offer virtual attendance.
