Advanced Southern Gastroenterology is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Nurse Practitioner to join our growing gastroenterology practice. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our physician and clinical staff to provide high-quality care for patients with digestive and liver disorders.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, managing chronic gastrointestinal conditions, educating patients, and ensuring continuity of care. Experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or related specialties is preferred.
Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and follow-up assessments.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and diagnostic procedures.
- Provide patient education regarding disease management, medications, diet, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care.
- Manage patients before and after procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, FibroScan, and other GI-related services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas.
- Board Certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or related specialty.
- DEA license and prescriptive authority in Texas (or ability to obtain).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
- Experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related specialty preferred.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
