Nurse practitioner

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on diagnostic evaluations and clinical guidelines.
  • Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, dermal fillers, spinal taps, catheterizations, and laser treatments.
  • Manage acute pain cases, triage urgent issues, and coordinate follow-up care or referrals as needed.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10, CPT).
  • Engage in telehealth consultations and participate in clinical research projects to advance evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient settings including ICU, emergency room, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, pediatric care, and behavioral health.
  • Assist with discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and working within Workers' Compensation law when applicable.

Skills

  • Proven experience working with Epic or similar EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Skilled in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Expertise in managing complex cases involving acute care including ICU experience or Level I/II trauma center background.
  • Familiarity with diverse specialties such as gastroenterology (botulinum toxin treatment), dermatology (dermal fillers), infectious disease care (including ICD coding), occupational health, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics (memory & Alzheimer’s care), neonatal ventilator management & pediatric care (including toddler & infant care).
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care across various populations including assisted living residents, individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities of any kind.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance for patient privacy and medical records management.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition or chronic disease management.
  • Capable of performing diagnostic procedures like sonography or spinal taps with aseptic technique; experienced in acute pain management and airway management techniques.
