Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) and Women’s Health to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations related to women’s health and obstetrics.
- Manage prenatal visits, monitor fetal development, and coordinate delivery plans in collaboration with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide family planning services such as contraceptive counseling, insertion of IUDs, and sterilization procedures.
- Administer treatments including immunizations, Pap smears, breast exams, and screening for sexually transmitted infections.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusions, and sterile techniques for gynecological interventions.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Athenahealth to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Educate patients on health maintenance, pregnancy care, menopause management, and lifestyle modifications to promote overall wellness.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex needs such as high-risk pregnancies or chronic gynecological conditions.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to women’s health to stay at the forefront of medical advances.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Experience
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in Women’s Health or Obstetrics/Gynecology from an accredited program.
- Demonstrated experience in primary care settings focusing on women’s health or OB/GYN services.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
- Experience performing gynecological procedures including suturing, Pap smears, colposcopies, and ultrasound sonography is highly preferred.
- Background working in diverse environments such as outpatient clinics, hospitals—including Level I Trauma Centers—and outpatient surgical centers.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms to provide remote consultations when appropriate.
- Knowledge of CPT coding for billing procedures related to women’s health services is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to reproductive health and physiology knowledge for accurate patient assessment.
- Experience working with individuals across different age groups including pediatrics (adolescent girls), adult women, seniors in geriatrics or memory care settings is beneficial.
