Nurse Practitioner / Physician's Assistant

Job Summary

Marin Treatment Center is seeking a part or full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant. We are an Opioid Treatment Program which is fully accredited and recognized by the California Department of Health Care Services as an Opioid Use Disorder Program, or Narcotic Treatment Program. We embrace harm reduction treatment modalities.

Marin Treatment Center also provides mental health services to patients who are primarily living with co-occurring diagnoses. Our medical staff includes a Medical Director, physician , Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant and three nurses who provide dispensing services.

Experience in addiction medicine is highly desired. A desire to work in harm reduction setting is required. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant will be a Physician's extender, with responsibilities that assure high quality medical services are delivered to patients and that the clinic conforms to the requirements of federal and state regulations. The position also works with and refers patients to primary care and mental health practices/practitioners

The successful applicant will be committed to providing evidence-based treatment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The LPHA evaluates and certifies admissions into the MAT program and reviews and approves treatment plans and monitors patient progress and works with the physician's to supervises the dispensing and clinical staff. Our clinical staff include licensed MFTs as well as certified counselors.

MTC has been providing treatment for Opioid Use Disorder since 1976 and has well-established relationships with County of Marin Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) and other substance use disorder contractors in Marin County. Marin Treatment Center is Marin County’s only Opioid Treatment Program and has a long history of treating opioid/Fentanyl addiction.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Administer and supervise medications, while adhering to DHCS Narcotic Treatment Program and Marin Treatment Center policy and procedures and best practices. .
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and ensure accurate documentation and medical records management.
  • Participate in telehealth consultations to extend care access and coordinate follow-up services remotely.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR, part 2 regulations while ensuring patient confidentiality and data security at all times.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant with current state licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical office settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate billing and documentation.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to triage effectively across various clinical scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams committed to high-quality patient care.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation and case management activities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $84.00 - $92.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
