Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP) to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and seniors.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic modalities.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications while ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across primary care providers, specialists, and support services.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to stay current with emerging mental health treatments and contribute to evidence-based practice improvements.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about mental health conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies.
Experience
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Proven experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings with exposure to diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Hands-on experience with telehealth platforms such as Telehealth systems or similar virtual care tools.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures, CPT coding for billing purposes, HIPAA regulations for patient privacy, and medical documentation standards.
- Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is highly desirable; experience working in emergency room settings or Level I/II trauma centers is a plus.
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychopharmacology treatments including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and anxiolytics.
- Skills in performing physical examinations, vital signs assessment, medication administration injections, venipuncture (phlebotomy), sterile processing techniques, and basic life support (BLS).
