Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Nurse Practitioner Specialty is responsible for providing direct clinical customer care customer-owner in assigned area.
Qualifications:
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska.
- Current certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Meets all requirements in order to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required
Additional Qualifications
- Child and Family Developmental Services: One (1) year of experience as a Pediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner required.
- Covenant House: Experience working with adolescents (Ages 13-17) and experience working within behavioral health is encouraged.
- Detox: One (1) year of experience in withdrawal management or behavioral health services; AND waivered to prescribe buprenorphine. AND Obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) approval within three (3) years of the Provisional Provider Application approval date with the State of Alaska.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR), Clinical Informatics: Two (2) years of clinical EHR experience; and experience with adult learning theory and training materials/session development.
- Primary Care (Geriatrics, Home Visit Provider, Quyana Clubhouse): Two (2) years of clinical experience providing primary care to older adults and/or frail population.
- Primary Care (Consultative Pediatrics): One (1) year of clinical experience providing Pediatric care.
- Primary Care (Clinical Informatics): Two (2) years of clinical EHR experience; and experience with adult learning theory and training materials/session development.
- Inpatient Pediatrics: Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care.
- OBGYN: Two (2) years of clinical experience providing women's health with prenatal care and gynecology office visits and may include clinical experience with postoperative follow up care

Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position, requires that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, and T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis).
