We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Inpatient Wound Care team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced physicians and healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. The NP will play a key role in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with acute and chronic wounds, ensuring optimal healing outcomes and continuity of care.
Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including staging, measurement, and documentation of various wound types (pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, and complex non-healing wounds)

Develop, implement, and manage individualized wound care treatment plans

Perform bedside procedures such as wound debridement, dressing changes, and application of advanced wound care therapies

Monitor wound healing progress and modify care plans based on patient response and clinical best practices

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate inpatient care

Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and labs relevant to wound healing and infection management

Educate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention, care techniques, and treatment plans

Participate in hospital rounds and ensure proper documentation in the EMR

Coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care, including referrals to outpatient wound care services when needed

Requirements:
-
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas (required)

Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in wound care, inpatient care, or a related specialty preferred

Wound Care Certification (e.g., WCC, CWCN, or CWON) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complex wound cases

Proficiency in performing wound-related procedures such as debridement and application of advanced wound therapies

Familiarity with evidence-based wound care protocols and infection prevention practices
