Nurse Supervisor - Nurse Family Partnership Program

Summary

The Nurse Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program team serving families through the Downtown Public Health Center. In this role, the successful candidate will supervise Public Health Nurses and administrative staff delivering intensive, evidence-based home visiting services to young, first-time mothers. The program focuses on improving maternal health, supporting healthy pregnancy outcomes, and promoting the health and development of children from pregnancy through the child’s second birthday. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring program fidelity to the NFP model while supporting staff through reflective supervision, coaching, and professional development. This position also serves as a key member of the site leadership team, collaborating with community partners, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to strengthen services for families. The Supervisor leads program improvement efforts, supports evaluation and data monitoring, and may provide occasional coverage for other supervisors at the Downtown Public Health Center.

Job Duties

• Staff Supervision and Leadership
• Provide direct supervision to Public Health Nurses and support staff assigned to the NFP program, including hiring, onboarding, orientation, reflective supervision, performance evaluations, training, coaching, counseling, and discipline when necessary.
• Foster staff development, team cohesion, and a supportive work environment grounded in trauma-informed and equity-centered practices.
• Guide and mentor staff delivering services in Public Health Centers, clients’ homes, and community settings. Program Management and Oversight
• Lead program planning, implementation, coordination, compliance, and evaluation for the NFP program.
• Ensure program services are delivered in alignment with fidelity standards of the Nurse-Family Partnership evidence-based model.
• Support staff in applying motivational interviewing, reflective practice, coaching, and strength-based approaches consistent with NFP principles. Data Monitoring and Reporting
• Monitor program performance indicators including staff productivity, caseload management, service delivery, and outcomes for targeted populations.
• Oversee accurate and timely entry of program data and utilization of web-based reporting systems and national NFP program data reports.
• Produce required reports including monthly recruitment and enrollment data and reports required by funding sources. Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
• Participate in budget development, expense monitoring, inventory management, and financial reporting activities.
• Support compliance with local, state, and national program requirements. Community Collaboration
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with coworkers, Public Health staff, and other County departments.
• Work collaboratively with community organizations, healthcare providers, and service agencies to assess community needs and strengthen program partnerships.
• Participate in statewide consortiums and collaborative initiatives implementing the NFP model. Leadership and Organizational Support
• Contribute to site leadership activities and quality improvement initiatives at the Downtown Public Health Center.
• Provide occasional backup coverage for other supervisors within the Downtown Public Health Center.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Requirements:

• Washington State license as a Registered Nurse (in good standing) or a master's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.
• Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing.
• Washington State Drivers' License in good standing.
• Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.

Work Schedule: This is a fully benefitted, 1.0 FTE position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and is not overtime eligible. May work outside of the typical schedule to meet operational needs.

Work Location: Downtown Public Health Clinic at 2124 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121. Will work at various locations to attend meetings and other operational functions.
