Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with procedures, and supporting medication administration under supervision.
- Assist with patient intake, ensuring accurate collection of medical history and current symptoms.
- Support clinical staff by maintaining electronic health records (EHR systems), documenting patient information, and updating charts efficiently.
- Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Help coordinate patient flow within outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or emergency departments, including level I and level II trauma centers.
- Support medical teams during procedures such as X-ray imaging, surgical prep in the OR, or emergency medicine interventions.
- Engage in medical terminology learning and ICD coding practices to ensure precise documentation and billing support.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques and emergency response protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to pursue a career in nursing or healthcare support; prior hospital or clinic experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to undergo training for Medical Assistant responsibilities if applying as an MA candidate.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration practices.
- Experience working in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, or emergency environments such as urgent care or trauma centers is highly valued.
- Ability to operate EHR systems efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Basic understanding of ICD coding, vital signs measurement, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is preferred; however, training will be provided for eligible candidates.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork; ability to thrive in fast-paced hospital medicine or urgent care settings. Pay: $36.33 - $43.75 per hour
