Minimum 10 year experience in 100+ bed hospitals or
5 Year experience as ICU / NICU Nurse

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care
- Oversee Patient Care: Coordinates and evaluates the delivery of patient care throughout the hospital, ensuring standards of practice are met.3
- Clinical Resource: Acts as an expert clinical resource for nursing staff, providing guidance, and support in complex patient situations.4
- Quality Assurance: Monitors the quality of care, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and ensures adherence to patient safety protocols.5
- Make Rounds: Conducts regular rounds on nursing units to assess patient needs, support staff, and identify potential issues.
- Respond to Emergencies: Manages and coordinates the hospital's response to medical emergencies (e.g., Code Blue) and internal/external disasters.
Staff Management & Development
- Supervision: Manages and mentors nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and nursing support staff.6
- Staffing & Scheduling: Manages staffing levels based on patient acuity, census, and staff availability to ensure safe and adequate coverage.7
- Performance Evaluation: Provides input for and assists with performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions for nursing staff.8
- Conflict Resolution: Mediates conflicts among staff, patients, and families, promoting a positive and professional work environment.9
- Mentorship: Fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional development, acting as a role model and mentor to the team.10
Administrative & Operational Duties
- On-Site Administrator: Serves as the designated administrative representative for the hospital during off-hours (evenings, nights, and weekends).11
- Patient Flow: Manages patient throughput, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, to optimize bed capacity.
- Policy & Procedure: Ensures all staff comply with hospital policies, nursing protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., The Joint Commission, Department of Health).12
- Incident Management: Investigates and reports on patient, staff, or visitor incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Collaboration: Liaises with physicians, department managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective hospital operations.13
- Resource Management: Manages the allocation of supplies and equipment during the shift to meet patient care needs.
