- Staff and operational management:
- Manage staff schedules and assign nurses to patients.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
- Handle staff disciplinary actions and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure the department meets operational, quality, and productivity standards.
- Patient care and quality assurance:
- Ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Monitor patient records and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Address patient and family concerns and provide support.
- Communication and liaison:
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, patients, and families.
- Communicate updated information to departments and staff.
- Report nursing activity and metrics to senior management.
- Strategic and administrative duties:
- Participate in developing and updating nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the department's strategic plans.
- Stay current with advancements in nursing practices
