An exempt position responsible for oversight of a comprehensive occupational health program of all Fire Rescue employees. ARNP services will include annual physicals, health promotion, injury prevention and ergonomics, case management, hearing conversation, medical surveillance, respiratory protection program and fitness for duty. Responsible for compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies to include OSHA, CMS and CDC. Ensures records are secured and HIPAA compliant. Supervises RN staff and applicable clerical staff.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree or Doctoral-level nursing program in a specialty area, and obtain national certification.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must possess current licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Must obtain American Board for Occupational Health Nurses - Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Association of Physician’s Assistants in Occupational Medicine credentialing within 18 months.
