Occupational Health ARNP

JOIN OUR TEAM AS AN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH ARNP

An exempt position responsible for oversight of a comprehensive occupational health program of all Fire Rescue employees. ARNP services will include annual physicals, health promotion, injury prevention and ergonomics, case management, hearing conversation, medical surveillance, respiratory protection program and fitness for duty. Responsible for compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies to include OSHA, CMS and CDC. Ensures records are secured and HIPAA compliant. Supervises RN staff and applicable clerical staff.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs comprehensive physical assessments
  • Reviews imaging reports (i.e. ultrasound, X-ray, CT scan, etc.) and provide information to patient
  • Monitoring the health status of employees
  • Developing and implementing health and safety programs
  • Developing disease prevention programs, such as smoking cessation, exercise, and healthy eating programs
  • Observing and assessing the work environment for potential dangers and hazards
  • Treating injuries and illnesses for employees, including follow-ups and referrals
  • Serves as a gatekeeper for healthcare services, including rehabilitation and disability matters
  • Provides resources to employees on physical and mental health issues, guiding them toward community resources and/or employee assistance programs
  • Conducting research on the effects of hazardous work conditions or workplace exposures, which may include gathering data and reporting findings to the employer
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Requirements

PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree or Doctoral-level nursing program in a specialty area, and obtain national certification.


LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must possess current licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Must obtain American Board for Occupational Health Nurses - Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Association of Physician’s Assistants in Occupational Medicine credentialing within 18 months.
