About Wellness in Motion

Wellness in Motion is a community-based, non-traditional wellness practice serving neurodivergent children, teens, and adults throughout San Diego. We provide movement-based, functional support focused on motor planning, executive functioning, behavioral support, adaptive fitness, and community integration.

Our model is private-pay and relationship-driven. We intentionally move beyond clinic walls and frequent formal evaluations to focus on real-life application, rapport building, and whole-body wellness.

This is not a traditional clinic role.

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) for a part-time contractor position (1099) to provide community-based services across San Diego County.

Services are delivered:

In client homes
In community settings (parks, coffee shops, libraries)
In real-life environments that support functional independence

This role prioritizes:

Rapport-building
Movement and motor planning interventions
Whole-body wellness approaches
Executive functioning support
Community integration

Minimal formal evaluations required. Emphasis is on functional coaching and ongoing skill development.

Responsibilities

Provide movement-based and functional support services
Facilitate motor planning and executive functioning activities
Support clients with sensory regulation and adaptive strategies
Promote independence in daily routines and community settings
Build strong, collaborative relationships with families
Document session summaries (concise and functional)
Maintain professional boundaries while working in natural environments

Qualifications

Active California Occupational Therapy License (Required)
Minimum 1 year experience preferred (pediatrics, neurodivergent populations, or community-based practice)
Comfortable with non-traditional, movement-based interventions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Reliable transportation
Comfortable driving 30–45 minutes between sessions
Passion for whole-person wellness and community integration
